Annual Conference 2009
Our 2009 conference and AGM was held on Thursday 3rd December 2009, at The Quay Complex, 131 New Street, Fisherrow Harbour, Musselburgh, EH21 6DH.
This year the theme was ‘Nature and Industry on the Forth’. The Marine Bill, River Basin Management Plans and developments on the Forth featuring in the National Planning Framework (NPF) are all important to the future of the Forth and its management. We had speakers from the Scottish Government on the Marine Bill, the Inshore Fisheries Group and the Forth Fishery Trust on Forth fisheries, the RSPB on new work relating to Forth birdlife, developers on plans for Longannet Power Station, and Sea Energy Renewables on offshore wind farms. The conference finished with a half hour ‘soapbox session’, where members drew attention to issues that are important to them.
