Sounds of our Shores

What sounds remind you of standing by the shore? The National Trust, the National Trust for Scotland and the British Library are partners in a fascinating project called ‘Sounds of our shores’. It will create an audio snapshot of the sounds of the coastline for future generations to hear. The public across the UK are being asked to record the sounds of the seaside and ports and then upload them onto a digital map. This can be done simply with a mobile phone (and if like me your phone isn’t ‘smart’ many still record sound which you can send via your pc). So whatever you are doing this summer, why not record and submit your contribution of the soundscape of the Forth and beyond? More information can be found on the British Library web page.
